We are passionate about providing our customers with the best service possible and are looking for an experienced groundworker to join our friendly team as a lead installer.
Applicants should have previous experience in a variety of aspects of groundworks from paving, brickwork, installation of footings, foundations and drains, laying of tarmac, concrete and turf. Experience in operating heavy machinery such as excavators (from 1T through to 10T), dumpers and twin drum roller is required along with the capability of finishing (i.e. levelling and grading to a good standard). A full UK driving licence is an essential requirement with a trailer licence preferred.
We will continue to invest in your development through a scheme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to enhance your skills and provide installation services the ‘Suddenstrike way’.
All applicants must be well organised, have excellent written and verbal skills and ideally have a proven track record in a customer facing position and a high attention to detail.
As a Suddenstrike installer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of your team and your projects, including the latest health and safety guidance, starting your project from a drawing/plan (including setting levels), organising stock for your project, liaising with your manager and reporting progress. You should be able to think on your feet, be confident in making decisions, reliable and punctual with a high attention to detail.
The primary working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00; however, flexibility in the role is key as working out of your primary hours is occasionally required; weekend work is part of the role and is managed on a rota system.
Your starting salary will reflect your experience and qualifications, but starting from £14.00 per hour. Along side this there is an opportunity to increase earnings further through bonus schemes. The position also includes twenty eight days paid holiday, a company telephone, tablet, vehicle, clothing, personal protective equipment, tools and other equipment for work use only.
Appointments will be subject to references, validation of full UK driving licence and qualifications (where applicable) and a successful enhanced DBS check.
