Going Orange

12/04/2009

Last March you may recall an article regarding Albino moles where we asked this question – “If you were asked to name the colour of a Mole, what would you say? Black? Grey? White?!” Well now we can add orange to that list after one of our technicians captured two orange moles whilst carrying out a routine mole control programme for one of our clients.

Like albino Moles, various colours of Moles away from the ‘normal’ grey/black colour exist, however they are very very rare. This variance in colour from the usual black/grey appearance is caused by mutations in the Moles genes in the same way that albino rabbits and other species occur.
